Turning audits into digital access: Tempo’s partnership with Screen Share UK

At Tempo, we believe the work we do should create value beyond certification.

That is why we have partnered with Screen Share UK, a charity providing digital access and skills to refugees. For every audit we complete, Tempo donates the cost of a refurbished laptop for a refugee.

The partnership is simple: our audits help fund devices that can help people access healthcare, education, government services, employment opportunities, and connection with the outside world.

Why Screen Share UK?

Before founding Tempo, our founder Rob had seen first-hand how challenging life can be for refugees in the UK. Hosting a refugee for three months before the pandemic brought home just how much practical support can matter.

Digital access is one of those practical needs.

According to Screen Share UK, around 90,000 refugees in the UK lack access to connected devices. Without a laptop, phone, or reliable access to the internet, people can be cut off from basic services, education, work opportunities, and the ability to manage their own case or communicate with family and support networks.

Screen Share UK exists to close that gap.

The charity’s work also has an environmental benefit. The UK produces huge volumes of electronic waste every year, and many usable laptops are still sent to landfill. By refurbishing devices and getting them into the hands of people who need them, Screen Share turns potential e-waste into something genuinely life-changing.

That combination of human impact and circularity is one of the reasons the partnership felt like such a natural fit for Tempo.

A charity at a similar stage

One of the things that stood out to us was the scale and energy of the Screen Share team.

Tempo is still a young company, and Screen Share UK is only a few years into its own journey too. That makes the partnership feel especially meaningful. We are working with a charity where the impact of our support is visible, direct, and easy to understand.

After meeting Screen Share UK’s founder and CEO, Moses Seitler, we were struck by his passion, commitment, and clarity of mission. It was obvious that this was an organisation doing practical, important work with real urgency behind it.

The impact so far

We have now completed our first quarter partnering with Screen Share UK.

During that period, our partnership supported the refurbishment of 67 laptops. The devices were refurbished by Sharifa, Screen Share’s Technical Operations Assistant, who is a 21-year-old Afghan refugee. Sharifa managed the full refurbishment process, helping transform devices from e-waste into reliable tools for people who otherwise may not have been able to access them.

Those laptops have since been distributed to refugees who are on the margins of society and unable to afford connected devices themselves.

One recipient wrote to Screen Share within a week of receiving their device:

“The device has drastically changed my life. As my family of four and I are living in a small hotel room until our case is processed, it was quite scary to be unable to connect with the outside world. Now I can contact the Home Office, write emails, and my children can watch YouTube. Your device has truly connected us. Thank you.”

That message captures exactly why the partnership matters.

A laptop can seem ordinary. But in the right hands, it can mean access to services, information, education, communication, and a sense of connection at an incredibly difficult time.

Audits with real-world impact

Our core work is helping modern companies complete high-quality audits in a clearer, faster, and more human way.

But we also want Tempo to be a company that contributes beyond the audit process itself.

By partnering with Screen Share UK, every audit we complete helps fund digital access for someone who needs it. It is a simple model, but one with immediate and tangible impact.

We are proud to support Screen Share UK and look forward to continuing our quarterly check-ins with Moses and the team as the partnership develops.
